NEW Personnel at CMS
This summer has brought with it very good cause for optimism with our strong base of faculty members and the addition of some new faces to our building. I am extremely pleased with the new people we are bringing in to join our group of professional educators at CMS! We gladly welcome each of these new teachers to the halls of CMS. With these new additions and the professionals in place we have the potential to continue to improve on the good things we are already doing for our students.
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
There are some important dates that I want you to be aware of as we get student information ready for the upcoming year.
Sixth Grade/New Student Orientation: Parents of Sixth Graders or parents new to the District can choose either the evening of August 8, starting at 6 p.m. or the afternoon of August 10, starting at 1 p.m. for a Sixth Grade/New Student orientation/technology time for parents and students. Both of these will start with a general meeting in the Field House. This time will provide the parents an opportunity to learn about policies and procedures related to the chromebooks and CMS in general and is required for a student to be issued a chromebook to take home. Chromebooks will be issued at that time to those who sign up and pay the $20 insurance fee. Parents then will be able to register their child utilizing our electronic format. The students will also have an opportunity to meet several of their teachers, gain familiarity with where their classes are located, and put things in their assignd lockers during these events.
Seventh & Eighth Grade Registration: August 10, from 9 a.m. to noon will be the registration times for these students. Chromebooks will be available to parents to fill out needed information. If you are unable to make it that day you will be able to come in between August 10 and the first day of school to fill out the information and have your child get their picture taken for their ID.
August 17 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm will be our Back to School Night for the entire middle school. This night will provide the parents an opportunity to go through their child's schedule and meet each of their teachers while learning some of the things the students will be doing in each class. Seventh and Eighth grade parents will have the opportunity to get signed up for student led conference times and will be able to sign up and pay the $20 insurance fee so that their child can take home a chromebook.
Fall Sports Parent Night: We will be having our Fall Sports Parent Nights on August 22 and August 24 at 6:00pm for athletes that will be participating in fall sports. parents of Fall Athletes will need to attend one of these sessions to make their student athlete eligible to participate in fall contests. Parents are only required to attend one of these sports nights to meet that portion of the student athlete eligibility requirements.
